January 29, 2018

Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has assured the Organised Private Sector (OPS) of his administration’s commitment to building more infrastructure to enhance commercial and economic activities in the state.

Ugwuanyi gave the assurance on Monday while inaugurating the two-storey Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA) House in Enugu.

“This administration will do more in improving the existing infrastructure and social amenities that promote commerce and economic growth.

“We will continue to partner with ECCIMA to build a robust business climate meant to drive development in all its ramifications within the state.

“I must commend the chamber and its council members for this edifice which ranks as the best any chamber has built in the country,’’ he said.

The governor also lauded ECCIMA for building institutional capacity for the promotion of trade, commerce, industries and innovation in the state.

According to him, the chamber will continue to enjoy close government partnership and collaboration at all times.

The President of ECCIMA, Rev. Ugochukwu Chime, thanked God, members of the chamber, companies and corporate organisations in Enugu State for their assistance in the completion and inauguration of the chamber’s house.

“Today is indeed a historic landmark in the affairs of the chamber movement, and indeed the Organised Private Sector in Nigeria.

“Aside from Lagos Chamber, no other city chamber in Nigeria has such a complex.

“This building is a great signpost for the institutional capacity enhancement of the Organised Private Sector, particularly in this part of the world.

“We have no doubt that it would go a long way to improve the operational efficiency and add more value to the chamber’s growth and stability,’’ Chime said.

The chamber boss commended Gov. Ugwuanyi for his fervent support to the chamber and its activities.

The two-storey edifice has three conference halls, offices and meeting rooms with many conveniences.
