Okorocha Claims Seven PDP Governors Working for APC

Rochas OkorochaImo State governor and Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors Forum, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has claimed that no fewer than seven governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are secretly working for the APC and mobilising support for them in the forthcoming election. He did not name the governors.

The governor who also revealed that the governors have been holding secret meeting with them, noted that the decision of the governor to work for the APC was a final death knell on the PDP and a confidence booster that the APC will win in a landslide fashion.

The governor who spoke while addressing the party supporters at a rally held in Festac, in Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos State, added that the victory of the APC Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari was already a fait accompli.

He said, “Now let me tell you that the victory of General Muhammadu Buhari has been signed sealed and delivered . But let me tell you something more, don’t tell anybody, it is a secret, today (yesterday) about seven governors who are not APC are coming to hold meeting with us privately to join us.

“There is fear in the country. The fear is that they know Buhari is a good man, they know Buhari will win, but there is fear. The fear is that once they announce Buhari on the 28th of March as president all the bad people stealing the nation’s money will take mid night flight and run away from the country. The fear of Buhari is the stoppage of corruption in Nigeria. ”

Okorocha noted that it was the intervention of Buhari that led to the stop of open defecation in the country, he said Buhari had stopped all forms of indiscipline before the country became a laughing stock among comity of nations for lack of discipline.

The governor said the PDP died when APC was formed, “The day Fashola, Rochas Okorocha and other governors came together PDP died in Nigeria. On the 14th of February last month we were supposed to bury PDP, but they changed the date of the burial to 28th of March.

“Now we are waiting patiently to bury PDP forever. Let me tell you, you can change the day of the burial, but you cannot change the burial, it must take place. May the soul of PDP rest in peace.

The governor also used the opportunity to appeal to the Igbo community in Lagos to support the governorship ambition of Akinwunmi Ambode, the governorship candidate of the APC in the state, assuring them that his government will bring immense benefit to the Igbo people in the state.

Also speaking at the rally, national leader of APC and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu said the country has been united before the present administration polarized it along religious, ethnic delineation.

“The language you speak and the tribe you were born to were decided by God. It is not your choice; it is the choice of God. When you get to the hospital do you see Christian or Muslim sections? Do you see Ibo, Yoruba or Ijaw ward? We are one people.

“Does hunger, poverty has tribal mark? Can you go to an Ibo bread seller and say I am an Ibo man I need bread? Can you go to a Yoruba woman selling roasted plantain and tell her to give you one because you are a Yoruba person. The road is not labeled Muslim, Christian, or Obatala road? Let not these people continue to deceive us.

“Those of you travelling with flights, for instance Dubai when you want to board the plane do you ask about the name, tribe or religion of the pilot. All you simply do is to pray to God for a safe flight.”

Tinubu said the government has not been able to provide employment and insurance cover for, “soldiers and police who are working in danger. Their insurance has not been paid, but they are busy bribing people for votes.”
