Presidency confirms Buhari ill, jets to London for medicare

To match Interview NIGERIA-BUHARI/After initial denials that President Muhammadu Buhari was not sick, the Presidency Sunday admitted that the President has actually been ill and would proceed on a 10-day leave in order to receive medical attention for an ear infection. Earlier media reports had suggested that the President was in bad shape with a niggling ear ailment which often incapacitated his ability to function effectively.

But the Presidency had denied such reports.

However, a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday  by Special Adviser on Media, Femi Adesina, said President Buhari would seek medical attention  in London for “a persistent ear infection”.

This is the second time in one year that the President would be officially taking a break from his Aso Rock duties.

PRESIDENT BUHARI PROCEEDS ON 10 DAYS VACATION

President Muhammadu Buhari will take 10 days off and travel to London on Monday June 6th to rest.

During the holiday, he will see an E.N.T. specialist for a persistent ear infection. The President was examined by his Personal Physician and an E.N.T Specialist in Abuja and was treated. Both Nigerian doctors recommended further evaluation purely as a precaution.
