The deceased Police source said was allegedly gunned down at about 8pm last week Tuesday by suspected cultists.

Report has it that the 23-year-old student of the University of Lagos, was shot dead at a bar around St. Finbarrs in Akoka area of Lagos while having some drink with friends.

His assailants, suspected to be cultists and also students of UNILAG, walked up to him and shot him at pointblank range where he was sitting, it was learnt.

A student of the Department of Accounting, who preferred anonymity, said he knew the deceased.

“His parents had recently bought a new SUV for him. He was such a cool-headed man. But everybody knew him as one of the ‘big boys’ in the Faculty of Business Administration,” the student, who spoke under condition of anonymity, said.

Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti Street, Yaba, Lagos, said the deceased was a 300-Level student.

“From investigation so far, the assailants were not even masked. Our findings revealed that he was sitting at a table inside a bar around St Finbarr’s when they walked inside and shot him on the head around 8pm last week Tuesday.” a source told our correspondent.

The remains of the deceased were buried on Wednesday, one week after the incident. An autopsy was conducted on the body on Tuesday.

Police are working on the suspicion that the deceased was killed as a reprisal for a grouse against the cultists even though it has not been established if Elusakin belonged to any cult group.

The Facebook wall of the deceased, who was fondly called B Money by friends, has been awash with condolence messages from associates.
