Saraki discharged and acquitted by CCT, prosecution has no case against Senate President – Tribunal rules

The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on Wednesday discharged the false asset declaration case against the Senate President, Bukola Saraki. A 48-count charge was slammed against the Senate President who in the face of his travail had tremendous backing of the Senate.

The CCT declared that there is no case by prosecution against him, adding that the evidences available are not substantial enough to continue with case.

The Prosecutor said it will study the judgment before taking any further action.

Shortly after he was discharged, the CCT premises erupted with joy and shouts of victory by his supporters.
