Troops Recover Another Chibok School Girl, loses Colonel, four soldiers in ambush; 14 insurgents also die in gun battle

chibok-girls-with-vp-wifeTroops of 121 Battalion, Nigerian Army, deployed at Pulka, Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State, for Operation LAFIYA DOLEĀ  Saturday 5th November 2016, at about 6.00am, while screening some escapees from Boko Haram terrorists hideout in Sambisa forest, discovered one of the abducted Government Secondary School Chibok girls, named Maryam Ali Maiyanga among them. She was discovered to be carrying a 10-month-old son, named Ali. She has been taken to the unitā€™s medical facility for proper medical check-up.

In recent months troops have been working round the clock to clear remnants of Boko Haram terrorists wherever they might be hibernating and also rescue all persons held hostages by terrorists.

Meanwhile the military has lost one of its most committed fighters in the terror war, Lt. Colonel Muhammed Abu-Ali, who died in an ambush laid for his troops by the terrorists. A shootout ensued between the troops and the insurgents and the Abu-Ali fell to hot pellets from the dare-devil insurgents alongside 14 insurgents and four other soldiers.

Mr. Abu Ali, commanding officer of 272 Tank Battalion got accelerated promotion for his in the Boko Haram war last year. He was said to have been hit by several bullets as he rallied his troops of Operation Lafiya Dole for reinforcement against the insurgents who laid ambush in two sets against the troops.
