Just in: Senate suspends Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for 6 months

The Senate, on Thursday, suspended Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP-Kogi) over “total violation of the Senate Standing Rules 2023 as amended.
This followed the presentation of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions’ report led by its Chairman, Sen. Neda Imaseun during plenary.
The investigation and suspension must as the fastest decision ever made by the Senate in recent history.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan had gone to court over what she termed an act by an aide of Senate President Godswill Akpabio to defame her character.
This followed allegation of sexual harassment levelled against Akpabio by Senator Natasha after an altercation in the Senate chamber last week.
