The House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts says over 3 billion naira of public expenditure remains unaccounted for across 60 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of Government that have not yet aligned to established financial management standards.

Chairman of the Committee Bamidele Salam disclosed this at a briefing ahead of a National Conference on Public Accounts and Fiscal Governance expected to chart a new course for transparency and sustainable development.

The Committee is advocating harmonisation of national and subnational laws to integrate modern anti-corruption technologies in financial regulations and institute transparency and accountability as core national values.
