NDLEA Seizes 170kg cannabis, Destroys 8 Hectares of Farm in Cross River

The Cross River Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Sunday destroyed an eight hectares of Cannabis Sativa farm in Uyanga community of Akamkpa local government area of the State, spokesperson of the Command, said on Sunday.

According to Sebastian Lebo, the NDLEA team, accompanied on the mission by soldiers from the 13 Brigade of the Nigerian Army also recovered 170kg of Cannabis being processed in the farm.

Lebo stated that this latest crackdown comes just days after a similar exercise  took place in Uwet, Akamkpa. In that instance, 15 tons of cannabis were destroyed across six hectares of land, while officials recovered 119kg of already processed cannabis.

The statement noted that the State Commander, John Anteyi, commended the effort of the officers and soldiers for their bravery.

He assured Nigerians that the NDLEA under the leadership of Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd) will continue to live up to its mandates, particularly in ridding  Nigerian streets of illicit drugs.
