Police arrest 2 suspected illicit drug dealers in Delta
The Police Command in Delta has arrested two suspected illicit drug dealers in the state.
The command’s spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed this to journalists on Monday in Warri.
Edafe said the suspects were nabbed by operatives of the command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU).
According to Edafe, the police team, acting on the information, stormed the hideout in a targeted operation and effected the arrest.
”The operation resulted in the arrest of two suspects, one male and one female.
”A search conducted during the operation led to the recovery of large quantities of suspected illicit and controlled drugs.
”The drugs include: Tramadol, CSC Codeine, Molly, Swinol, Vagadine, Red Boy, Zaza, Taker, and other substances suspected to be harmful drugs,” he said.
Edafe said that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were allegedly involved in the sale and distribution of the recovered substances.
He added that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to dealing in controlled drugs.
Edafe said the suspects were currently in police custody, adding that a discreet investigation into the matter was ongoing to identify other members of their network. (NAN)
