Mohamed Fouani abducted

Barely 48 hours after the abduction of the Managing Director of Fouani Company, Mohamed Fouani, a Lebanese along with three other Lebanese in Lagos lagoon, investigators of the crime have beamed their searchlight on company insiders and other persons close to the Fouani family.

Fouani is the managing director of the popular Fouani Group, the main distributor of LG, Hisense and other electronics brands in Nigeria.

The quartet was abducted around Falomo Bridge while traveling from Apapa to Victoria Island by boat.

Police sources told Political Economist NG that investigation will focus on company insiders and close friends of the Mohamed.

A police source said they will also beam searchlight on pirates and kidnappers who have often struck on the Lagos lagoon axis.

The armed men abducted the Managing Director  and his Lebanese associates in Lagos on Friday.

The names of the victims had not been ascertained.

A source familiar with the incident, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of its sensitive nature, told Sunday PUNCH that the kidnappers had reached out, demanding ransom.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, has confirmed the development.
