Alleged Fraud: Court Resume Trial of Former Gov. Fayose

Admin February 4, 2019

Ayodele Fayose

A Lagos High Court has resumed hearing into the case of former Ekiti state Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose who is facing an alleged N7.2bn fraud charge preferred against him by the economic and financial crime commission (EFCC).

The Former Governor is currently in the dock while Senator Musiliu Obanikoro who had earlier given evidence against him is being cross examined.

At the last adjourned date, Mr Obanikoro had testified that he gave Mr Fayose the sum of $5m in cash doled out from National Security impress account on the instruction the then National Security Adviser to former president Goodluck Jonathan, Colonel Sambo Dasuki.

Mr Dasuki is equally standing trial on charges of squandering $2.1bn meant for the purchase of equipment to combat Boko Haram insurgents between 2013 to 2015.
