How Amaechi’s CSO, Tony Iwelu, was electrocuted in hotel room

Tony Iwelu

Tony Iwelu, the Chief Security Officer, CSO,  to the Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi has been electrocuted in his hotel room in Kaduna.

Sources said his death was caused by electrical fault in his hotel room which spread to the bathroom. Experts have always warned about using substandard materials or allowing quacks to wire building particularly areas that have contact with water. According to them water is a good conductor of electricity and any time it gets in touch with any naked wire (leaking wire), it spreads the danger to everything in its track.

Iwelu, a DSS staff, was described as a very dutiful and professional officer who dignified himself as a professional intelligence officer. He died while using the shower in his hotel room.

His death was announced hours after reported attack on Amaechi on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line. The co-convener of #BringBackOurGirls Campaign, Aisha Yesufu,  had alleged that the Minister was attacked.

Yesufu had tweeted: “Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, you should be ashamed of yourself. My sister, my brother and my sister-in-law were on that train. When your convoy scattered and you fled like a newborn mouse whom water have(sic) been poured on, it was witnessed! Governance is not by lies and propaganda!

“So Amaechi thought he had security, and he was immune to the insecurity that affects the rest of us.

“Even the President is not secure. What he has is illusion of security. The more these attacks happen, the more likely we are going to be victims.”

However, Amaechi debunked news of the describing it as, “Fake News.”
