Benue State University Teaching Hospital Carries out Knee, Hip Joint Surgeries

Resident DoctorsThe Benue State University Teaching Hospital has successfully carried out series of knee and hip joints orthopedic surgeries in the state.

This is in line with the state government’s investment in critical sectors of human health and medicine.

The Chief Medical Director of BSUTH, Professor Orkurga Malu told Channels Television that the teaching hospital has become a referral centre for Orthopedic Joints replacement in the region, in its Four years of operations.

Consequently, the State Governor, Mr Samuel Ortom says apart from securing accreditation for the institution, his administration will partner both local and foreign health institutions to improve on the already set standard at the teaching hospital.

The teaching hospital is equipped with dialysis machines for kidney diseases, full CT scanning centre and clinical manpower for medical students undergoing studies to become medical doctors.

The head, Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Cephas Hough counts the graduation of two sets of medical doctors as a blessing but identifies power supply as a major operational challenge.

Governor Samuel Ortom in his response, says he will not allow decay to set in at the institution. – CHANNELS TV
