The editor of FirstNews online newspaper,  Segun Olatunji,  has been released barely 2 weeks after he was abducted from his home.

He was released to the Nigerian Guild of Editors,  NGE, this morning, according a message by the Secretary of the Guild, Dr. Iyobosa Uwugiaren.

Many notable bodies including the NGE, the International Press Institute Nigeria chapter, and the Nigerian Union of Journalists,  NUJ, had mounted appeals to President Bola Tinubu to prevail on the military authorities to release Olatunji.

He was said to have been in the custody of Defence Intelligence Agency.
