A 43-year-old man is in police net after he allegedly killed his older brother, Mustapha Amidu for ”shooting him” in a dream.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka,  on Wednesday in Ibadan.

“The tragic incident was reported at the Ago-Amodu Divisional Police Headquarters, by one Badmus Yunisa of Alegunlode Compound, Sepeteri area of Oyo State.

”The suspect, allegedly approached the deceased where he was seated, picked up a heavy rock, struck him on the head, and fled the scene immediately,” he said.

He said the victim was promptly rushed to Ileri Oluwa Hospital, Sepeteri, for medical attention, where he was confirmed dead by the medical doctor on duty.

“Upon receiving the report, a team of Police Operatives led by the Divisional Police Officer, Ago-Amodu Division, visited both the scene of the incident and the hospital as part of preliminary investigative procedures.

“The suspect has since been arrested and has confessed to the crime. He is currently cooperating with investigators,” Olayinka said.

Olayinka quoted Oyo State  Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna of directing that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet and comprehensive investigation.

The commissioner assured the public that justice would be pursued diligently and in accordance with the law.
