Buhari has not suffered memory loss, says Presidency as concerns mount over President’s health

Admin June 20, 2017

Controversial online news portal Sahara Reporters quoting Presidency source reports that President Muhammadu Buhari is terribly sick to the extent that his memory has been badly affected.

According to Sahara Reporters, the president has not spoken with Yemi Osinbajo, who is acting on his behalf since he traveled on another round of medical treatment abroad. Buhari has been away since May 5.

But a Presidency source Tuesday night dismissed the report as untrue. Although the source acknowledged the illness afflicting Mr. President, he was quick to add that it has not gotten to the extent of memory loss as was being peddled in most online portals.  The source also admitted that access and communication channels to and with the President have been limited to avoid unnecessary exaggeration of the state of health of Buhari.

“Everybody knows that our dear President has been sick but memory loss? No way. Those who peddle such rumour must be wicked. We enjoin well-meaning Nigerians to pray for the President and not listen to the naysayers”, the source said, adding that the President was in stable condition.

Sahara Reporters  report  alleged “Buhari was said to be rather unaware of his environment, his memory somewhat affected. For instance, on his way to the UK, he was said to have asked if he was on his way to Sokoto. Cabal working with Buhari might bring him back the same way he was returned in February, in a scheme to use his presence to perpetrate more fraud and control power.’’

However, this was not the first time that Buhari’s health had been twisted out of proportion. Recently, the President was rumoured to have died by a section of the media, especially the online media.
