Buhari Sacks Dasuki, Other Security Chiefs

In a move meant to arrest the worsening insecurity under his watch President Muhammadu Buhari Monday relieved the Service Chiefs of their appointments with immediate effect.

Those relieved of their jobs are the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Kenneth Minimah, Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Usman jubril and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosun. Also affected was the National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

The Service Chiefs who are statutorily heads of the country’s military apparatus were appointed by the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan in January 2014.

As at the time of filling this report, the replacements are yet to be announced.
