A federal court in Abuja has declared the Islamist Lakurawa group a terrorist organisation in Nigeria.
With the declaration, this allows the military to use maximum force against a group that has been an emerging threat to security in the northwest.
The emergence of the Lakurawa group has exacerbated insecurity in the north.
