A Chief Magistrates’ Court at Ikorodu in Lagos state on Wednesday remanded a 54-year-old man, Kajola Ahmed, in a correctional centre for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl.
Ahmed, whose address was not provided, was charged with defilement.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr B.A. Sonuga, did not take the defendant’s plea however.
He adjourned the case until Feb. 27 for legal advice from the office of the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Earlier, the prosecuting counsel, ASP Aminu Isaac, had told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 17 at about 11 a.m.
According to him, the offence contravened the provisions of Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.(NAN)
