A Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, on Monday, remanded of a 29-year old man, Moses Owoseni, in a correctional facility over alleged defilement of a 9-year old girl.

Owoseni, whose address was not given, is facing a two-count charge of defilement and unlawful penetration, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo, told the court that Owoseni committed the offences at about 1.30p.m on Sept. 5, at Pidet Str., Ile-Epo, Araromi, Badagry, Lagos.

Ekpo said that the defendant had unlawful sexual penetration and intercourse with a 9-year old girl.

The prosecutor further said that the defendant was arrested after the victim reported the incident to her parents.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 137 and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Nurudeen Layeni, ordered that the defendant should remain in custody pending the advice of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
He adjourned the case until Nov. 11, for mention.(NAN)
