COVID-19: Nigeria records 8 fatalities in 6 States, tests 1,728 samples in the last 24 hours – NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has released its COVID-19 Nigeria situation report for 4th June, 2020.

The report released on Friday is a daily COVID-19 situation report provides a summary of the epidemiological situation and response activities in Nigeria.

According to the NCDC, while no new state recorded a confirmed COVID-19 case in the last 24 hours, eight deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours in six states: FCT (2), Nasarawa (2), Bayelsa (1), Kaduna (1), Kano (1) and Rivers
(1).

It noted that the total number of states including FCT that have reported
at least one confirmed case in Nigeria is still 36.

“Two hundred and six (206) cases were discharged in the last 24 hours in sixteen (16) states: – Kano (41), Katsina (28), Lagos (24), Rivers (21), Kaduna (14), Jigawa (13), Nasarawa (12), Borno (10), FCT (10), Kwara (8), Niger (8), Imo (5), Delta (4), Ogun (4), Gombe (3) and Yobe (1).

The report also reveals that 73,064 (1728 in the last 24 hours) samples have been tested while 350 new confirmed cases were reported in 20 States.

The report stated further that 3,535 (206 in the last 24 hours) patients were discharged and 323 fatalities (8 in the last 24 hours).
