The company also donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worth millions of naira to its host community and $500,000 worth of medical equipment to the Rivers Government.

A statement issued on Thursday by the company’s General Manager, External Relations and Sustainable Development, Eyono Fatayi-Williams, said NLNG Managing Director, Tony Attah, handed over the facility in Bonny .

“The Holding Centre donated to the Bonny Zonal Hospital is part of our support to our host community to fight the spread of coronavirus.

Attah, represented by NLNG’s Manager of Community Relations, Godson Dienye, gave an assurance that the company was committed to actualising its vision of establishing a healthy society.

He listed items donated to include one oxygen bank with five bull nose cylinders, 10 drip stands and 10,000 one-fit N95 healthcare particulate respirator.

“Similarly, the company has embarked on several other initiatives which have had direct bearing on the well-being of the masses.

“Only recently, the company donated medical equipment worth over 500,000 dollars to the Rivers State Government to manage the coronavirus pandemic.

“The company also pledged intervention at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital worth one million dollars,” he said.
