COVID-19: Zenit St Petersburg player of the month receives award via drone delivery

The 23-year-old poses with his prize after the drone made a successful delivery to his flat

Zenit forward Malcom has received his player of the month award via drone delivery.

The Brazilian star is currently isolating in his flat during the coronavirus crisis, but his club ensured he still received his prize using tech to reach his window, according to Dailymail UK report.

Football might be on the backburner in Russia right now, but that hasn’t stopped Zenit St Petersburg from commending their players as they delivered a player of the month award to winger Malcom by using a drone, the online media reports.

The COVID-19 has put a stop to domestic action in the country, with nearly 12,000 confirmed cases, meaning stars in the top division are forced to keep fit at home until action resumes.

Brazilian Malcom had been in good form before the pandemic brought football to a standstill, putting in two impressive displays – scoring a goal and providing one assist – and has been crowned as the league’s best player in March.
