DBI partners Nile University to co-host first International Conference on Engineering and Applied Sciences

Nigeria’s foremost digital capacity-building agency, Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) will partners with the Nile University of Nigeria to co-host the first International Conference on Multidisciplinary Engineering and Applied Sciences scheduled to hold from 15th – 16th July 2021.

This agreement was reached when the President/CEO of the Institute, Prof. Mohammed Ajiya received a delegation from the Nile University of Nigeria during a courtesy and collaboration visit on 29th April 2021, according to a statement by Akin Ogunlade, Head, Public Affairs of DBI.

The delegation was led by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of Nile University of Nigeria,  Prof. Steve Adeshina who stated that the purpose of the visit was to seek a partnership with the DBI to co-host the first International Conference on Multidisciplinary Engineering and Applied Sciences scheduled to hold from 15th – 16th July 2021.

Adeshina noted that DBI, being a world-class training Institute with repute for impactful capacity building is a partner of choice on the conference and this informed the basis for seeking such partnership.

The President/CEO of DBI, Prof. Ajiya in his welcome remarks appreciated the delegation and stated that the DBI is highly pleased to partner on knowledge sharing. He noted that such academic activity as the First International Conference on Multidisciplinary Engineering and Applied Sciences will give an excellent opportunity to researchers, inventors and industry leaders to contribute to ventilate ideas for the growth of the country especially with inventions in engineering.

He stressed that the DBI is a training Institute established by the Nigerian Communications Commission to enhance manpower capacity in ICT and telecommunications of both government and private organizations especially in the evolving areas of ICT, Telecoms and general skills and such partnership are pivotal towards ensuring development.

In his response, the leader of the delegation of Nile University of Nigeria Prof Steve Adeshina commended the leadership of the DBI for rendering valuable service to the nation through capacity building of the workforce. He stated that there is need to deepen collaboration with the DBI and seeking support from the  DBI to co-host the upcoming ICMEAS conference scheduled for July 15-16 2021 is the start of more beneficial relationship.

The DBI team included the President/CEO, Engr. Prof. Mohammed Ajiya,  lnstitute Secretary, Ms. Tonia Ansa-Otudor, Head, Public Affairs Mr. Akin Ogunlade, and representative of Research, Education and Training Mr. Emeka Nzeih.

The Nile University of Nigeria’s team were the Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Steve A. Adeshina, Engr. Dr. Sadiq  Thomas, Head of Department, Computer Engineering, Dr. Omotayo O. Oshiga, Head of Department, Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
