Deji Tinubu, Ambodes’s aide, slumps, dies

The Special Adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Commerce, Deji Tinubu, is dead. He was the former Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission, until the recently when he was moved to Commerce. He died late on Thursday during a novelty match in the Epe area of Lagos State. The match was between officials of the state government, commissioners and special advisers,  who had been on a retreat.

Tinubu reportedly slumped in the field and was rushed to a hospital in Epe where he was confirmed dead.

Governor Ambode was part of the football match. Deji as he was popularly called was certified fit before the game started by the medical crew who screened the state officials.

He was a popular figure in the sports circle, a radio commentator and TV analyst on football and other sports.
