Delta community agog as St. Anthony’s College Old Boys launch water scheme

The construction of the water scheme which was initiated as part of activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the school began in 2016 with fund raising on the college premises.

The Secretary to the Delta State Government, Chief Patrick Ukah, will on Sunday, June 13, 2021 commission a water scheme built by the old boys of St. Anthony’s College, Ubulu-Uku.

The construction of the water scheme which was initiated as part of activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the school began in 2016 with fund raising on the college premises.
The project includes a borehole, pumping machine, a stanchion with capacity for 5,000 liters of water as well as a network of pipelines that reticulated water to the entire college community.
Also expected at the commissioning ceremony are the permanent secretaries in the ministries of information as well as basic and secondary education, secretaries of the Post Primary Education Board and State Primary Education Board.
Also expected are the member representing Aniocha South in the Delta State House of Assembly and the Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area.
The ceremony begins with a Holy Mass to be said by a group of priests who are also old boys of St. Anthony’s College, Ubulu-Uku.
The monarch of Ubulu-Uku, His Royal Majesty, Noah Akaeze, Obi of Ubulu-Uku, is the royal father of the day.
Founded in 1956 by missionaries from the Catholic Church, St. Anthony’s College, Ubulu-Uku is one of the colleges designated as model schools by the Delta State government.
