Delta to deliver sustainable road network across the state

Admin February 20, 2018

February 20, 2018

Delta government has reiterated its commitment to deliver sustainable road network across the state.

The State Commissioner for Works, Chief James Augoye disclosed this while inspecting ongoing road projects in the North Senatorial District on Tuesday in Asaba.

He said that the road projects when completed would enhance urban/rural integration for effective evacuation of agricultural produce from agrarian communities.

Augoye also noted that the projects when completed would help to ease the challenge associated with the transportation of goods and services from rural communities to urban cities.

He expressed satisfaction with the pace and standard of work on the 8.2 kilometer Issele-Uku/ Onichu-Ugbo road, 2.43 kilometer Issele-Ugbodu/Ukwunzu/Obokpa/Idumu-Ogo road.

Augoye also inspected the construction of 1.150 kilometer Mbiri township road and the rehabilitation and the 43 kilometer Umunede/Otolokpo road project.

He assured the people of the state of the readiness of government to construct road across the 25 local government areas of the state.

He therefore called on communities where construction work were ongoing to reciprocate the state’s government gesture by remaining peaceful and law abiding.
