The leadership of the National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU Worldwide) has expressed gratitude to the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on the recent approval of N713million for the payment of 2024 bursary to students of the state origin across higher institutions in the country.

In a statement on Monday, in Asaba, NADESSTU National President; Comr. Wiska Monday, said the initiative is seen as a significant step towards alleviating the financial burden on students and encouraging academic excellence within the educational sector.

He emphasized that the bursary would not only ease the financial challenges faced by students but also inspire more young individuals from Delta State to pursue their academics.

He noted that the financial support underscores the government’s commitment to education and the well being of its youth.

He also highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering a conducive academic environment, especially for those facing economic constraints.

The bursary approval is seen as a testament to the Governor’s proactive approach to educational support, which they believe will have a lasting positive impact on the educational landscape of Delta State.

The National President has called on Local Government councils in the state to take similar steps in supporting their students from their respective LGAs, thereby enhancing the overall educational framework across the region.

He expressed optimism that this bursary scheme will set a precedent for future initiatives aimed at empowering students in various fields of study.

In conclusion, the leadership of NADESSTU reassured the Governor of their continuous support and appreciation for his efforts in promoting education and youth development within Delta State.
