Edo State Judicial Panel of Inquiry for Victims of Police Abuses and Brutality, Tuesday morning ordered the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command to apprehend and arrest one Mrs. Carol Afegbai, former Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Ogida Police Station, Benin City, for failing to obey the legal summons of the Panel.

The panel had invited the DPO on account of complaints of complicity in the extra-judicial killing of Ibrahim Momodu. But the Mrs Afegbai shunned the panel, refusing all entreaties and invitation to make an appearance.

While some persons have accused the police of hiding Mrs. Afegbai and shielding her from appearing before the panel, others insists that she must make an appearance with immediate effect.

At the resumed sitting of the panel on Tuesday, the Panel ordered that she be arrested, held and brought before the Judicial Panel, on the 9th day of December, 2020.
