FG Looks to Better Ways of Financing 2019 Budget

The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed says the 2018 has performed well regardless of challenges in revenue generation.

According to Ahmed who was speaking at the 2019 National Assembly, NASS Budget Hearing in Abuja, “The 2018 budget has performed well though there are challenges in revenue generation”.

She noted however that the Federal Government has put in place strategies to better finance the 2019 budget.

She said, “We have put in place strategies on how to finance the 2019 budget. We intend to borrow both locally and internationally, improve on our local borrowing, introduce an infrastructure bond and identify new and enhance an existing revenue stream.”

“We need the approval and support of NASS in our plans to introduce other streams of revenue generation.”
