How Gokada CEO Saleh was found murdered, dismembered in his New York apartment

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) say they found the body of Fahim Saleh, founder of Gokada, dismembered in his New York apartment.

The NYPD say they found an electric saw next to the remains of the millionaire tech CEO regarded as the “Elon Musk of the developing world”, according to Daily Mail UK.

The police said they made the discovery on the seventh floor of an apartment building on E. Houston St on the Lower East side about 3:30 pm on Tuesday — after one of his siblings called 911 saying he had not seen all day.

Saleh was last seen on Monday afternoon around 1.40pm — as captured by a CCTV footage. He was said to have shared the building’s elevator with his alleged killer.

The footage is said to show the suspected murderer carrying a bag as he follows the victim into the elevator and attacks him as the lift goes up to the seventh floor.

The bag was found beside the dismembered body of the millionaire tech entrepreneur, but the police did not immediately open them to see if the body parts were inside.

His arms and legs below the knees were removed, and body parts were put in plastic bags on the property.

Sergeant Carlos Nieves, NYPD spokesman, said all of the body parts were found at the scene but he declined to give specifics on where.

“We have a torso, a head that’s been removed, arms, and legs. Everything is still on the scene. We don’t have a motive,” Nieves said.

However, the company confirmed his death in a series of tweets on Wednesday morning, describing the late Saleh as an inspirational leader.

“We are deeply saddened to inform you about the sudden and tragic loss of our founder and CEO, Fahim Saleh. Fahim was a great leader, inspiration and positive light for all of us,” the tweet read.

“Our hearts go out to his friends, family and all those feeling the pain and heartbreak we are currently experiencing, here at Gokada.

“Fahim’s vision and belief in us will be with us forever, and we will miss him dearly. Thank you for understanding as we get through this.”

It added that further updates about his death will be revealed as events unfold.

“Forever in our hearts,” the company added.

Saleh, Bangladeshi-American, founded and invested in several transportation-related start-ups.

The 33-year-old tech entrepreneur, was the CEO of Gokada, a motorcycle-hailing company in Lagos, Nigeria.

The company faced setbacks and mass layoffs after Lagos banned the operation of motorcycle taxis in January, 2020.
