Good Samaritans raise £92,000 in hours for slain cop in Westminster terror attack

KIND-HEARTED Sun newspaper of UK readers are urged to help the grieving widow and children of hero cop PC Keith Palmer who was stabbed to death in the Westminster atrocity. Donations to a Just Giving page are spiralling with £92,000 already raised to support the family of the 48-year-old officer described as a “wonderful dad and husband”, reports The Sun newspaper.

Police Constable  Keith Palmer was stabbed to death by a suspected terrorist outside the Palace of Westminster

The Sun has pledged £10,000 to the fund set up to help the grieving family of PC Palmer. Tributes poured in for the officer, tragically knifed to death just inside the railings at Parliament, after he was confirmed as one of the three innocent victims.

Also killed in the atrocity were American tourist Kurt Cochran and mum-of-two college worker Aysha Frade.

The officer’s broken-hearted wife and seven-year-old daughter have been left devastated by the death of the popular Met police constable.

Colleagues from the Metropolitan Police Federation branch yesterday set up an official crowd-funding page to raise money for the family after Keith was stabbed to death by a terrorist fanatic while on duty protecting Parliament.

The fund had reached £32,00 by 12.30pm and Met Fed chairman Ken Marsh said : “We are a family and trying to support our colleague’s immediate family following this terrible tragedy.

“We have come together to raise funds for Keith Palmer’s wife and daughter. Nothing will ever bring Keith back and his family will have to be without him for the rest of their lives.

“They will need help and that is why we have launched this crowd-funding site on a Just Giving page.

“We would be very grateful to any of The Sun’s readers if they wished to contribute a donation, however small, to the fund.

“It is a way of showing solidarity for the family of our colleague who lost his life trying to protect the public and democracy in this country.

“We are grateful to The Sun for its generous donation and I am sure the family of Pc Palmer will

appreciate it.”

MP Tobias Ellwood tried desperately to save the policeman, who had also served in the army for more than a decade, giving him CPR at the scene.

But, sadly despite his efforts and those of PC Palmer’s colleagues the injuries inflicted by the attacker were fatal. UK Sun
