The Inter-Party Advisory Council of Nigeria, a group drawn from members of registered political parties, Delta State chapter, has commended Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan for providing an enabling environment for the State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC), to conduct the recent local government election in the state.

They observed that voters were able to cast their vote in an atmosphere devoid of intimidation and rancour.

The commendation came when the chairman of the Council, Mr. Paul Isamade, addressed the press on their impression of last Saturday’s election that held across the 25 Local Government Areas in Delta State.

According to Isamade, the provision of adequate funds and logistics by Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan was crucial in enabling the Commission to organize a credible election.

Flanked by other members of the association, he noted that monitored the exercise across some Local Government Areas and were impressed with the conduct and discovered that DSIEC performed creditably well.

The body used the opportunity to commend the DSIEC Chairman, Mr. Moses Ogbe, for a good job, adding that the system had never been this good.

With the appreciable level of credibility brought to the electoral process by the success of the council election in Delta State, Isamade called on INEC to liaise with DSIEC and draw useful lessons from the conduct of the election. He also appealed to all Deltans to close ranks in effort to move the State forward.
