Guber poll: Aregbesola implores Osun electorate to vote APC candidate

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun, has implored the people of the state to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

Aregbesola made this appeal during his visit to the palace of Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle in Ilesa on Wednesday in Osogbo.

The governor said that the essence of allowing continuity in government in Osun was not for himself alone, but also for the benefit of the entire people of the state.

According to him, the spate of development in the state will definitely continue under the APC‎ led  government, if the party wins the election again.

Aregbesola urged the people of the state to learn from Lagos, which had enjoyed unprecedented development due to the unbroken regime of the progressive party.

He said since Osun was a division of the Western Region and now a state in Nigeria, no government had ever achieved his administration’s feat in terms of infrastructure development.

“I want us to be very careful not to lose what we have; what we have is unparalleled ‎development, which has never been experienced in the state since its creation.

“The state is going through a developmental phase and we must be careful not to halt the steady wind of positive change that is blowing across the state.

“Lagos state is the most developed state in the country today simply because no other party has, apart from the APC, ruled the state.

“It is the continuity in the governance of Lagos that has enabled it to develop in that manner,” Aregbesola said.

In his response, the traditional ruler lauded Aregbesola for the infrastructure development across the state.

“Aregbesola has done so well for Osun and deserves commendation from all angles, especially on roads and school infrastructure,” the monarch said.

Adekunle said if the All Progressives Congress (APC) should play by the rules and listen to elders’ advice on the way forward, victory in the coming poll‎ could be guaranteed.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Sept. 22 for the Osun gubernatorial election.
