Happy CBN Governor thanks Buhari for release of his kidnapped wife

Admin October 1, 2016

Godwin Emefiele2The Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele, is a happy man with the prompt release of his kidnapped wife, Margaret. Mrs Emefiele was kidnapped by armed gunmen along the Benin-Agbor road on Thursday. Her abductors who may have trailed her contacted the CBN Governor and made demands for undisclosed amount of cash which was placed at millions of naira.

On hearing the news, President Muhammadu Buhari was said to have ordered the nation’s security apparatchik to get her out with immediacy. That directive paid off as Mrs Emefiele was rescued Friday night.

The CBN Governor has expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari over his directives. Emefiele thanked the President in a statement released in Abuja on Saturday by the Acting Director, Corporate Communications, Mr Isaac Okorafor. In the statement  Emefiele praised the security agencies for their gallantry in bringing his wife back home within 24 hours, in compliance with the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He expressed his gratitude to the Delta and Edo State Governments, friends and well-wishers, who through their actions, prayers and goodwill, helped to bring this harrowing experience to a joyful end. The CBN Governor reaffirmed his resolve to continue to serve the nation diligently, without any fear of intimidation.
