HEFAMAA DISTANCES ITSELF FROM FICTITIOUS THREAT EMAILS TO HEALTH FACILITIES

The Lagos State Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency, HEFAMAA, has distanced itself from fictitious email messages purportedly sent from lagosstatehealthmonitoringteam@gmail.com to some health facilities in the State, with a threat to shut them down for allegedly committing several infractions and malpractices among others.
According to a statement issued by Dr. Abiola Idowu, Executive Secretary, HEFAMAA, the email address does not belong to the Agency neither did the deceptive mail emanate from the HEFAMAA, adding it is the work of mischief makers who are out to hoodwink and defraud unsuspecting owners and operators of health facilities.
Her words: “It is our belief that the message was intended to hoodwink and defraud unsuspecting owners and operators of health facilities in the State in order to scam them and damage the cordial relationships which exist between the Agency and its numerous stakeholders, especially health facility owners”.

Dr. Idowu maintained that HEFAMAA has its official website, e-mail address as well as other social media platforms which it uses to reach out to its various stakeholders, urging all health facilities in the State and the general public to disregard messages that do not emanate from its official sites or social media handles.

While imploring the public to report suspected individuals behind such emails to the Agency or other appropriate government agencies for necessary action, the Executive Secretary reiterated that HEFAMAA engages its customers and the general public through its official website: hefamaa.lagosstate .gov .ng; e-mail: hefamaa@lagosstate .gov .ng; Twitter: @hefamaa_LASG; Facebook: https://web.facebook.com/hefamaa; Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/hefamaa2020; LinkedIn: HEFAMAA and Phone Numbers: 09015637023, 09057273396, 09038795500, 08172704228
She, therefore, implored all stakeholders to be wary of fraudulent messages, assuring that the Agency will not abandon its responsibilities to improve the health and well-being of the citizenry, through efficient and effective monitoring as well as inspection of all health facilities in the State.
