I was a prisoner in Benin, Buhari recalls, applauds Oshiomhole

buhari-in-beninVisiting President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday lauded Governor Adams Oshiomhole for his development efforts and sacrifice for the comfort of his people. The President who is on a two-day working visit to Edo State said he was impressed by what the Comrade Governor has done.

He recalled that Benin City was his home at a time when he spent most part of his 40 months in prison custody  after the 1985 coup in the ancient city of Benin, Edo State.

“Not many people may remember: I spent most of the 40 months of my detention, following the 1985 coup, in a small bungalow here in Benin,” he said.

Buhari who commissioned the remodeled 200-bed capacity ultra-modern central hospital in Benin, said he was impressed with the edifice, adding that it was “the best way to do things and the best thing to do for the people by any government”.
