I will be fair to all, says Governor-elect Akeredolu, PDP kicks

Admin November 27, 2016

Akeredolu RotimiOndo State Governor-elect, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) has said he will be Governor to all and pledged fairness to everyone in the state irrespective of party affiliation. He spoke after he was declared winner of the election which held on Saturday.

But Mr. Ayo Fadaka, an agent of the PDP,  protested the result of the election saying it was rigged in favour of the APC. He echoed the sentiment of Governor Olusegun Mimiko who claimed that INEC colluded with APC in the state to rig the election.

The result showed that the Alliance for Democracy candidate backed by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu came a distant third thus questioned the acclaimed leadership of the APC leader in the south west politics.

Mr. Akeredolu scored 244,842 votes to defeat 27 others in the governorship election.

According to the INEC returning officer, Abdul-Ganiyu Ambali, Mr. Eyitatyo Jegede of the PDP came second with 150,380 votes while Olusola Oke of the AD scored 126,889 votes to come third.
