The International Monetary Fund

The International Monetary Fund said on Saturday it is disbursing loan to Chad after the country reached an agreement in principle to restructure its more than one billion dollars debt to Glencore and four banks.

The IMF also said in a statement on Saturday that it expected Chad’s economy to grow by 3.5 per cent this year.

The growth is expected after it contracted by 3.1 per cent last year, assuming the terms of the February agreement with its lenders are implemented. .
