IMPERSONATION: LAGOS SAFETY COMMISSION ARRAIGNS FAKE CONSULTANTS

The Lagos State Safety Commission (LSC), through the Police, has arraigned two men before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court on a three-count charge of impersonation, fraud and theft.

In a statement by the commission on Thursday, the Director-General of the Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola revealed that the two men, Jephthah Taiwo and Salako David were arrested on January 11th 2024 for impersonating consultants of the Commission.

He said that the Commission was alerted to their nefarious activities by vigilant members of the public while incriminating documents such as fake abatement notices, provisional safety compliance letters, and notification forms for construction works, which they claimed were issued by the LSC were found on them.

The Director General has appealed to the public to support the State Government by reporting the activities of such impostors who ask them to pay money into private accounts by calling the Commission’s hotline: 07000SAFETY.
