Joy as Kidnapped Ondo Regent, Ekiti Catholic Priest Rescued
The kidnapped Catholic Church priest in Ekiti State, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Akingbade and the Regent of Akungba Akoko in Ondo State, Princess Oluwatoyin Omosowon, have been rescued separately by security agents. The reappearance of the Regent and the priest threw their respective communities into a frenzy of jubilation.
The Regent alongside three of her aides were kidnapped on June 2, 2015, while on their way to attend an event at the Federal University of Technology, Akure. She was said to have been rescued on Tuesday by a combined team of police and DSS
Two of her aides had earlier regained their freedom from the kidnappers’ den.
During the operation to rescue Rev Fr. Akingbade, three of his abductors were said to have been arrested by security operatives.
The Catholic Priest was kidnapped at the Mission House in Ido Ekiti, Ekiti State.
