Lagos Governor, Partners Set to Unveil Landmark Fund to Return Out-of-School Children to Classrooms

The Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) and their Strategic partner, the Education Outcomes Fund (EOF) is set to launch the Lagos State Education Access Fund (LEAF) aimed at reinstating out-of-school children back into the educational system.

According to the State government in a statement on Thursday, the initiative seeks to address the pressing issue of out-of-school children in Lagos and ensure every child has access to quality education.

The Lagos Education Access Fund (LEAF) will provide support for vulnerable children and their parents, offering them a second chance at education and a brighter future.

The launch event will bring together stakeholders, educators, and strategic partners to discuss the implementation of the programme.

The programme is also supported by the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, the UBS Optimus Foundation, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

The event is scheduled to take place at the State House Marina on Friday, 13th March, 2026 at 6pm

Mr. Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Her Excellency, Dr. Amel Karboul CEO Education Outcomes Fund one of our partners will be the Special Guest.

The Chief Host; Honorable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun, while the Chairman Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Hakeem Babatunde Shittu is the Host.
