Lagos records 128 new COVID-19 cases, 5 deaths

Lagos State has recorded 128 new coronavirus cases and 5 deaths, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has recorded.

The NCDC disclosed this in its COVID-19 Situation Report for June 8 on Tuesday.

With this Lagos State remains the epicentre of COVID-19 cases with 5,895 infections of the total 12, 801 cases.

According to report, 81 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours in nine
States (Kano (27), Rivers (16), Katsina (10), Bayelsa (9), Edo (5), FCT (5), Kaduna (4), Plateau (4) and Osun (1).

Seven deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours in 3 States (Lagos (5), Kano (1) and Katsina (1).

seven COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours in three states with Lagos having five, while Kano and Katsina recorded one death each.

The state, however, did not record new recoveries in the last 24 hours, which keeps the number of discharged patients recorded still at 944.
