Lagos Traffic Radio Partners LASWA on Adequate Public Information

Admin February 12, 2019

In a bid to further promote water transportation in the State, Lagos Traffic Radio has commenced a partnership with the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) to provide adequate public information that will boost water transportation in the State.

Speaking on the partnership, the General Manager, Lagos Traffic Radio, Mr. Tayo Akanle expressed confidence that the partnership will elicit public confidence in the use of boats as a means of commuting across Lagos.

According to Akanle, “one of the core objectives of the broadcast station is to provide information for residents and promote water transportation in order to encourage people to use the waterways”.

He said that providing adequate information on boat movements will increase the volume of patronage and have a multiplier effect on the economy of Lagos.

Also speaking at the strategic meeting held to commence the partnership, the General Manager, Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), Mr. Damilola Emmanuel said the alliance with Lagos Traffic Radio is focused at driving customer traffic to the existing 26 jetties and four major terminals in the State.

“We engaged in the partnership to enable Traffic Radio provide information on boat movement schedules at various terminals, thereby creating awareness for residents who want to use water transportation facilities” he stated.

Emmanuel said the jetties and terminals are equipped with modern facilities as well as lifeguards to ensure the safety of commuters at the various locations.
