Lai Mohammed, others for Global Patriot Newspapers Anniversary Lecture

Admin November 21, 2017

November 20, 2017

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, and other dignitaries are among prominent personalities expected to grace the Anniversary Lecture/Awards ceremony of Global Patriot Newspapers in Lagos on Nov. 23.
A statement by Simon Ibe, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of the online newspaper, said that the event will hold at the 4-point By Sheraton Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos from 10:00 a.m.
The statement said that other leading figures billed for the event include the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Sokoto State Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and former Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi.
Others are: a foremost pro-democracy and human rights legal luminary, Mr Femi Falana, and the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Magu.
Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, Group Chairman of Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc, Sen. Theophilus A. Orji, Mr Femi Adesina, Special Adviser (Media & Publicity) to President Muhammadu Buhari, and a chieftain of the Yoruba socio-cultural organization, Mr Yinka Odumakin.
Also expected at the event are a former Minister of Works, Sen. Sanusi Daggash; a former Spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prof. Rufai Alkali, and a U.S.-based Pastor, Ghandi Olaoye.
Pastor Ola Olukoyede and Are-Ona Kakanfo-designate, Otunba Gani Adams, are also expected at the event.
At the lecture, which will be chaired by foremost Pharmacist, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, the key issues of patriotism, the vast untapped potential of Nigeria and the nagging question of national development will be vigorously x-rayed.
The programme, Ibe said, is expected to bring to the front burner of national discourse, the connection between patriotism, which presently seems in short supply.
The need to tap the presently vast untapped potential of the country, including the human, solid minerals, agricultural, marine, ICT potential, for the rapid development of the nation will be looked at.
The theme of the Lecture is “Patriotism, Untapped Potential and National Development,” and the event would also be used to honour some individuals and organisations.
