NCDC releases COVID-19 Nigeria situation report for 30th May, says 159 patients discharged in the last 24 hours

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has released its COVID-19 Nigeria situation report for 30th May, 2020.

According to the COVID-19 daily situation reports which provides a summary of the epidemiological situation and response activities in Nigeria, 159 cases were discharged in the last 24 hours in 17 states (Jigawa (31), Lagos (21), Ogun (18), Katsina (17), Yobe (16), FCT (11), Kaduna (10), Kano (8), Bauchi (6), Borno (5), Rivers (4), Gombe (3), Sokoto (3), Delta (2), Oyo (2), Bayelsa (1) and Plateau (1)).

It noted that 12 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours in 7 States (FCT (3), Lagos (3), Kano (2), Borno (1), Gombe (1), Jigawa (1) and Rivers (1)).

“Five hundred and fifty-three (553) confirmed cases were reported in the last 24 hours in fifteen (15) states – Lagos (378), FCT (52), Delta (23), Edo (22), Rivers (14), Ogun (13), Kaduna (12), Kano (9), Borno (7), Katsina (6), Jigawa (5), Oyo (5), Plateau (3), Yobe (3) and Osun (1)”.

“No new state recorded a confirmed COVID-19 case in the last 24 hours. The total number of states including FCT that have reported at least one confirmed case in Nigeria is still 36 (35 states + FCT)”.

Lagos has however remained the epicentre of the coronavirus since its outbreak in the country, with a total of 3,939 of the total 9,855 in the country.
