The serial blackout in the country lay linger for more than anticipated as Niger Delta militants have struck again in the Escravos area of Warr, Delta State. This time their target was a major electricity feed pipeline located in the Escravos area.
Moments after the incident, the self-styled Niger Delta Avengers claimed responsibility via their Twitter handle, @NDAvengers. The group tweeted: “We Warned #Chevron but they didn’t Listen. @NDAvengers just blow up the Escravos tank farm Main Electricity Feed PipeLine.”
Their message was short but the implication is huge in the face of dipping electricity throughput nationwide.
