March 2, 2018

The Nigerian Army under the auspices of Operation Safe Heaven in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State has rehabilitated, inaugurated and handed over a bore hole to Gidan Waya community in the area.

It’s Commander, Maj. Gen. Anthony Atolagbe, while inaugurating the project said the gesture was part of the Quick Impact Projects (QIP) aimed at sustaining relative peace and winning the hearts of residents in vulnerable communities.

“One of such projects that was identified to have a lasting effect on the people is the sinking of bore holes that can be utilised by members of the communities within areas concerned,” Atolagbe said.

He said the project would further foster a cordial relationship in all the various social groups living in the community, thereby gaining their support for security operations in the areas.

He urged the community to utilise the facility and take appropriate measures to protect and safeguard it for the benefit of all.

The Administrator of the local government, Alhaji Yusuf Usman, commended the Operation Safe Heaven for identifying with the needs of the people, saying the gesture would impact positively on their lives.

Usman assured the Army that the community would always cooperate with security agents by providing useful information that would further strengthen security in the area.
