NIMET alerts on possible meningitis outbreaks in Sokoto

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET), has identified Sokoto as having heightened vulnerability to meningitis outbreak.

The Agency urged residents in high-risk areas to take proactive measures to protect their themselves.

Nimet also encouraged residents to get vaccinated against Meningococcal Meningitis, avoid crowded spaces, and steer clear of close contact with individuals displaying symptoms.

The Agency however called on Public health agencies to enhance awareness campaigns and implement preventive measures to help curb the spread of this disease.
